« On dark, often flat backgrounds, colorful lines intertwine, evoking the geometric patterns of Amazonian art, the traditional Japanese tattooing technique of tebori, or the henna designs of the Middle East and North Africa. These ornaments and symbols—combined, transformed, and stripped of singular meaning—replace words to form a new polyphonic alphabet, further expanding the space for interpretation.
Perhaps, by intertwining narratives, the artist aims to offer a contemporary rewriting of myths, beliefs, and ancestral customs, inviting us in turn to encounter this global neighborhood—on an imaginary continent.

“Travelling has been the greatest thing I have ever experienced. I have developed a new cultural mindset & interpreted some myths. Blurring boundaries between dreams and reality has influenced my paintings since.
I painted ancient & unexpected characters inviting people to reconnect with their inner child. I also draw very detailed and luxurious nature especially on walls to offer urban decor a new breath & rehabilitate dark colors in the backgrounds to enlighten the brightest ones.”

Several immersive trips in Latine America have deeply moved Vega Lopez and dived him into this land’s animism & mysticism, blurring boundaries between dreams & reality. A land covered in ancestral myths, gorgeous flowers and vivid life colors that has printed this “Anima Mundi” feeling in the artist’s heart. Vega Lopez is the messenger interpreting the land’s vital call, remembering what we have forgotten.
